The Journey BA Fine Art and Craft at The White Gallery

It was great to catch up with my former lecturer now colleague Mike Bunn over the Easter break at the University Centre Campus. Setting up the very diverse collection of works presented no challenge for Mike working in 3D comes naturally to him, as a talented sculptor. I am a huge advocate for the degree program in Doncaster which marries fine art approaches with practical applications, quite different from my own post modern art school education.

There is certainly a divide between the purely post modern and those combining practical lessons. One thing is for sure the work coming out of Doncaster has to possesses a high level of technical skill. The tutors give lectures in their specialist as well as one to one tutorials. It makes me want to do my degree again!!

A massive well done to all the students and their show currently at the White Gallery. The work looked great and the opening night was so rammed, you couldn’t even see the art 🙂
