Making Ceramic Mushrooms at St Johns Hospice

We have a mushroom crazy at the Hospice and these hand built mushrooms look great in plant pots or gardens. I can’t wait till they are complete.

They are made from clay pitch pots for the mushroom cups, which are fired in the kiln, glazed in lovely bright colours then put back in the Kiln.

Here’s some at a few different stages.

The stems are like long thin sausages these ones have been fired once and glazed, they’ll be back in the kiln next week.

Here’s one finished, with a a glaze called Fire Cracker. I can’t wait to see what people think tomorrow at the Hospice! Roll on mad mushroom Friday. 😜😍🍄🍄🍄
